Welcome to the website of the Association of North American Waldorf Music Educators (ANAWME).

We are excited to bring you news, information, articles, resource sharing and other important topics about Waldorf music and Waldorf music teachers. Our hope is to make this a forum for networking with each other and to support the colleagueship of Waldorf music educators. We also hope that it is a source of inspiration!

Our goal is to be continually adding to and upgrading this site and its contents as we receive news, articles, and other contributions, so please send us photos, articles, news items, schedules of conferences and workshops, repertoire suggestions, etc.

We would also love to receive your feedback about this site, so we invite you to let us know what you would like more of, less of or any other suggestions, questions, inspirations or comments. We want to make this a significant resource for you as Waldorf music teachers or to anyone who is interested in Waldorf music education.

ANAWME was founded in 2000 by a group of dedicated Waldorf music colleagues who felt the need for an organizational body that provided a framework for anyone interested in supporting, strengthening and contributing to the growth and health of Waldorf music education. Some have inquired about our name and have wondered if they are welcome to be a part of this association. ANAWME and this website seems to provide the resources and content that they are so earnestly looking for. ANAWMEʼs original impulse started in North America, was founded by and is primarily carried by those in North America - but does not exclude those who are residing or teaching outside of North America. We consistently get emails from people all over the world, who are interested in what ANAWME is about, wondering how they can become a part of this important work to connect with other Waldorf music teachers and find resources so vital to their working. ANAWME welcomes all music teachers, class teachers, early childhood teachers, parents and anyone wishing to understand and support Waldorf music education in all its aspects. We are dedicated to the development and support of music education in Waldorf schools across North America and throughout the world (see our vision and mission statements).

Whoever you are, you are warmly invited to join us as we explore Waldorf music education together!

Blessings,
Andrea Lyman
