Hello! This is my very first post here. I am about to begin my very first employment ever as a Music Teacher… at a brand new Waldorf School (1st through 3rd years) that is just beginning it’s very first school year this August. We are planning a “rose ceremony” which will invite and welcome the new students (and their participating families) before the school day begins on the “first day of school” for the 2021-22 school-year. I need to choose a song which the teachers will sing at this ceremony. “Once upon a Starry Midnight” has been suggested as “a” song, but two teachers have already expressed hopes that I, “the” Music Teacher, might find a better and more appropriate one. I’ve been sent a photo/copy of “Once upon…,” but I have not had a moment to really look over it yet. Before I leave “online” today, I wanted to be sure to put some feelers out on this site.
If you have any suggestion/s, I’d greatly appreciate inclusion of your reasons for “loving this perfect song,” as well! ??
